Description
Deutsch: Wasserturm Rüthen bei Nacht. Der am südlichen Rand der ehemaligen Stadtmauer gelegene Wasserturm wurde 1909 durch den Kasseler Ingenieur Leithäuser in Ziegelbauweise errichtet. Seine Höhe beträgt 35,90 Meter und der Wassertank hat ein Fassungsvermögen von 150 Kubikmetern. In 30 Meter Höhe befindet sich eine zugängliche Aussichtsplattform, die dem Besucher einen weiten Rundblick in das heimische Biber- und Möhnetal, auf die Höhen des Arnsberger Waldes, in die Ebene des Bürener Landes und auf den windmühlenreichen Haarstrang bietet. Der Turm dient heute noch immer der Wasserversorgung für die Kernstadt Rüthen und die nahgelegene Ortschaft Altenrüthen.
