Description
English: The water tower in Prenzlauer Berg (Berlin) is a steel and brick structure built in 1877. It is the oldest water tower in the city. On the top of the structure is the water deposit itself. The windows in the lower part of the tower correspond to the apartments where the machinery operators lived. These apartments are still inhabited and are very much in demand.
Deutsch: Der Wasserturm in Prenzlauer Berg (Berlin) ist eine Stahl- und Backsteinkonstruktion aus dem Jahr 1877. Er ist der älteste Wasserturm der Stadt. Auf der Spitze des Bauwerks befindet sich das eigentliche Wasserspeicher. Die Fenster im unteren Teil des Turms entsprechen den Wohnungen, in denen die Maschinisten wohnten. Diese Wohnungen werden immer noch bewohnt und sind sehr begehrt.
