English: LIMASSOL, Cyprus (Oct. 12, 2024) Lt. j.g. Sonya Zell, chaplain assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Bainbridge (DDG 96), leads a Yom Kippur service in the chapel aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), Oct. 12, 2024, while inport Limassol, Cyprus. Zell, the first female Jewish Cantor in the U.S. Navy, embarked aboard Wasp to provide Jewish services for the crew during the Yom Kippur season. The WSP ARG-24th MEU (SOC) is on a scheduled deployment to the NAVEUR-NAVAF area of operations, supporting U.S., Allied and partner interests in the region, including in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, to continue promoting regional stability and deterring aggression.
