| Description |
English: The Key Bridge crosses the Potomac River between Rosslyn (in Arlington, Virginia, left) and Georgetown (Washington, right). It was completed in 1923, and is now the oldest of Washington's Potomac River Bridges. The Key Bridge Marriott is at the left end of the bridge.
The State Department Building is in the foreground. It was built in 1939-1941, and has been renovated twice. It is now called the Harry S. Truman Building. Kennedy Center (John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts) was under construction at the left. It opened in 1971. Georgetown University is just beyond the right end of Key Bridge. This view is northwest from the Washington Monument. |
