Description
Deutsch: Die Kalvarienbergkapelle von Wartberg ob der Aist wurde 1745 errichtet. Vom Markt Wartberg aus führt ein Kreuzweg zur Kapelle. Die 12. Station ist ein Mahnmal für die Opfer der „Mühlviertler Menschenjagd“. Bei diesem Kriegsverbrechen wurden geflüchtete sowjetische Kriegsgefangene des Konzentrationslagers Mauthausen gejagt und ermordet.
English: The Calvary Chapel of Wartberg ob der Aist was built in 1745. A way of the cross leads from Markt Wartberg to the chapel. The 12th station is a memorial for the victims of the “Mühlviertel manhunt” (1945). In this war crime, Soviet prisoners of war who had fled from the Mauthausen concentration camp were hunted and murdered.
