[edit]DescriptionWar Memorial at Hoo Brook Kidderminster - geograph.org.uk - 1041449.jpg |
English: War Memorial at Hoo Brook Kidderminster. This small memorial primarily is dedicated to a Private Francis Perry who died in the Great War (First World War) "and in memory of those who gave their services". Strangely, above the dedication plaque, the years inscribed are 1914 to 1919. Yet the war actually ended in 1918. Maybe Pte. Perry died in 1919 as the result of his wounds. Unfortunately it hasn't so far proved possible to find out any more about him. Also below the dates are the Latin words "Pro Patria" (For Country). The memorial was erected by the inhabitants of Hoo Brook. The area is now part of Kidderminster. For the full text of the inscription please see this [1] |
