Der Löffel, welcher im Burgmuseum auf Burg Grafendahn zu sehen ist, zeigt das Wappen der Herren von Dahn. Im Schild die weißen Adler, welche auch heute noch im Wappen der Stadt Dahn zu sehen ist. Dieses Wappen ist auch in der Mauer, die den Hof der protestantischen Kirche von Birlenbach umgibt, zu sehen. Es ist in eine Grabplatte eingelassen. Auf ihr ist außer dem Wappen die Jahreszahl 1575 eingraviert. Sie stammt vom Grab des Johann Georg von Dahn, Sohn des Freiherrn von Birlenbach. Optisch rechts ist das Wappen der Familie von Walbrunn.[1] Das bis heute ungeklärte Rätsel sind die Darstellungen auf den Helmen, optisch links ein Affe der einen Spiegel hält, optisch rechts ein Wecken wie im Schild zwischen zwei, je ebenfalls mit einem Wecken belegten, Büffelhörnern (die Elefantenrüsseln ähneln).
