Object history | Der Eber und der silberne Wellenbalken stehen redend für den Ortsnamen. Der Wellenbalken ist Sinnbild für �Ach�, also einen Fluss. Der Eber stammt in etwas abgeänderter Form aus dem Wappen des gleichnamigen Zisterzienserklosters, das 1127 gegründet wurde. Die Geschichte des Ortes ist sehr eng mit der des Klosters verbunden. Bis zur Säkularisation 1803 war das Kloster Grund- und Gerichtsherr im Ort. Das Kloster richtete hier ein Amt ein. Dessen Siegel zeigte den Eber mit einem geschulterten Abtstab. Die Farben Gold und Schwarz weisen auf die zeitweilige Reichsunmittelbarkeit des Klosters hin, die von den Fürstbischöfen von Würzburg allerdings stets bestritten wurde. Die Farben Silber und Rot sind die Wappenfarben des Hochstifts Würzburg und erinnern an dessen Landeshoheit. | ||||
