English: Up East Coast Main Line express at Walton, near Peterborough. View NW, towards Werrington Junction, Grantham and North, also Spalding, Boston and Grimsby; ex-GN ECML and Boston Loop line. On the left is Post Office mail exchange post. The ex-Midland line to Manton, Melton Mowbray etc. is running just off to the left and the crossing gates at the Midland Walton station can just be discerned. The express is the 09.10 Hull/09.40 York - King's Cross, headed by the pioneering Thompson A1 Pacific 60113 'Great Northern'. |
