500px provided description: Sunrise today as taken from the rocks off Freshwater Beach in Sydney's Northen Beaches area. Was interesting (and a little scary) to see how the sea surged and raced up the steep worn rock right to where I was standing even though the swell was not particularly high. The rocks were very slippery from all the algae and I had to tread very gingerly. Quite a boring cloudless sky, and therefore the pre-sunrise colours were nothing special either. Curl Curl Beach and Dee Why Head can be seen in the distance on the left. It was windy and pretty nippy ealy in the morning but the water was warm in comparison.
