English: This is from a series of shots taken during Waleed's presentation to journalists attending the Knight Center for Specialized Journalism seminar on "Climate Change, Its Sweeping Impact"
NASA Presenters David Adamec and Waleed Abdalati presented during this portion of the seminar. Waleed is shown in these pictures. WALEED ABDALATI is a physical scientist at NASA’s Goddard Flight Space Center and manages the cryospheric sciences program, overseeing research on glaciers, ice sheets, sea ice and polar climate. He has held the position since 2000 and has led or participated in eight field expeditions to remote regions in Greenland and Canada. For the last four years Dr. Abdalati has served as program scientist for NASA's Ice Cloud and Land Elevation Satellite. In 1999 he received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Syracuse University, a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Colorado and doctorate degree in ocean and atmospheric sciences from the University of Colorado. |
