The Wade Necklace by Tiffany & Co. at the Cleveland Museum of Art in Cleveland, Ohio. White gold, platinum, and diamonds. c. 1900. Jeptha Homer Wade II (1857-1926) was the son of Jeptha Homer Wade, the founder of Western Union. He donated the land and many of the artworks in the initial collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art. This necklace was made for his wife, Ellen Garretson Wade (1859-1917). It resides at the Tiffany & Co. Archives in New York City. |
