Margaretha Engelen-Koets (Den Haag 1870 - Huizen 1957) Opstelling in het Tropenmuseum Amsterdam Clergyman's daughter. Attended Art College in The Hague. Married Captain C.H. Engelen who gained his reputation at the pacification of Bone (1905). After several years at a garrison town on Java they moved to South Sulawesi. There he was promoted to civil governor. Symphathised strongly with ethical policy. Domineesdochter. Bezocht de Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Den Haag. Getrouwd met Kapitain C.H. Engelen die zijn sporen verdiende met de pacificatie van Bone (1905). Na jarenlang verblijf in een garnizoensstad op Java vertrekt ze met haar man naar Zuid Celebes (Sulawesi). Hij is daar bevorderd tot civiel gezaghebber. Voelt sterke sympathie voor de ethische politiek.
