Description |
English: (Bureau number 88297, ex N8297 & N9154Z). This aircraft saw combat over the Mariana Islands during World War Two. It was later exhibited in the Tallmantz Collection, Orange County, California, before being aquired by the Fighter Collection at Duxford, arriving in the U.K during 1986. The aircraft is seen here in the markings of Lt Ira Kempford of VF-17, who was credited with 16 Japanese 'kills'. |
