President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the location of the 110th separate mechanized brigade named after General-Corporal Marko Bezruchko. The Head of State heard reports from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Joint Forces Andriy Hnatov, deputy commander of the 110th separate mechanized brigade and commanders of the 31st and 47th separate mechanized brigades engaged in combat operations on the neighboring defense lines. The President was briefed on the operational situation in the Pokrovsk direction, in the areas of responsibility of the brigades and informed about the intentions of the Russian occupiers. The fighting in the Pokrovsk direction is the most intense. Dmytro Bilyi, deputy commander of the 110th separate mechanized brigade, reported that Russian forces carry out between 15 and over 30 assaults per day. He also informed about the unit's immediate needs. Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a conversation with the warriors of the units and presented them with state awards. "I am honored to be here today and to thank you for the defense of our country, to thank your brothers-in-arms who are not here now, on behalf of all of us, on behalf of the entire people of Ukraine. Take care of yourselves. I wish your families and friends health and strength as well. Thank you for what you do every day to preserve Ukraine for Ukrainians," the Head of State noted. Colonel Yan Yatsyshen received the Cross of Military Merit. The warrior participated in the ATO/JFO. Since March of this year, he has been acting commander of the 47th separate mechanized brigade. During this time, the units under his command repelled numerous assaults by the Russian occupiers, preserved the defense line, destroyed more than 170 pieces of equipment, including a Su-25 aircraft, a Ka-52 helicopter, more than 20 tanks, and eliminated about 1,500 Russian invaders. The President awarded two defenders with the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III class, one with the Order "For Courage" II class and two more with the Order "For Courage" III class. |
