A dirt road, bordered on both sides by wooden fencing, leads towards a red brick structure.

Views are particularly significant at the Appomattox Court House Landscape because of the village's position on top of a ridge. The historic views of surrounding land were open, and the uninterrupted sightlines between the village and surrounding farms helped connect the landscape. As land use changed over time, fields were replaced by forests and development and traffic increased.
