Description
English: 1967 Huey Door Gunner. The Longhorns out of Lai Khe, South Vietnam. Armed with the M60D 7.62mm machine gun. The gunner is wearing an armor vest in the front. The armor in the back of the vest was taken out and put on the seat to protect the gunner's "private parts". The Longhorns were part of the 1st Aviation Battalion of the 1st Infantry Division. They flew the brigade and division commanders. This Huey helicopter was the command chopper for Major General John H. Hay, Jr., the commanding general of the 1st Infantry Division.
