Description
Nederlands: Het Regiment Van Heutsz kreeg het vaandel op 24 februari 1954. Het doek is in 1989 vernieuwd.

De opschriften zijn:

Krijgsverrichtingen Koninklijk Nederlands-Indisch Leger 1832-1950; Korea 1950-1954. Aan het vaandel zijn de Militaire Willems-Orde en de Atjehmedaille bevestigd.

Het Regiment Van Heutsz is opgericht in 1950 en zet de traditie voort van het Koninklijk Nederlands-Indisch Leger (KNIL). Het is genoemd naar luitenant-generaal J.B. van Heutsz. Deze militair was onder andere gouverneur-generaal van Nederlands-Indië. Hij vestigde het Nederlandse gezag tot in de uithoeken van de eilandengroep.

Het regiment is gekoppeld aan 12 Infanteriebataljon Luchtmobiel. Dat geldt ook voor het Nederlands Detachement Verenigde Naties, dat van 1950 tot 1954 deelnam aan de oorlog in Korea. In 1955 werden de compagnieën die binnen de Koninklijke Landmacht waren belast met de bewaking van militaire objecten, ook onder `Van Heutsz’ gebracht. Van 1966 tot 1994 was 48 Pantserinfanteriebataljon vast met het regiment verbonden.
