Description Straight on shot of a Variable Omni Range, Meteorological Navigational Aids System, utilizing an AN/FRN-44 VOR Site Survey Van with a VHF Omni Range Radio. The site was set up by the 485th Engineering Installation Group, Griffiss, Air Force Base, New York. The purpose of the vans is to help civilian aircraft navigate into Mogadishu Airport. This mission is in direct support of Operation Restore Hope.
