Description
Español: Ushuaia vista por el satélite Terra.
English: Ushuaia is the capital of Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina, and is regarded as the southernmost city in the world. First inhabited more than 10,000 years ago, the city received its first major economic growth when a prison was established in the 1890s. Ushuaia's current population of about 57,000 has developed the city into a tourist hub for those visiting the Tierra del Fuego National Park. The image was acquired March 25, 2018, covers an area of 18.6 by 21.1 kilometers, and is located at 54.8 degrees south, 68.3 degrees west. https://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/catalog/PIA22685
