Description

URSU GUTTA INSCRIPTION:

The Ursu hill is about, 1 km from Ursu Karimabad and 2 kms from Warangal.The inscriptions of Kakatiya's time are engraved on a hillock near Ursu village known as ursu gutta.

The Ursu gutta inscriptions are in Sanskrit.One of the inscriptions is in the Nagari script and the other is in telugu characters of the 14th century.The first one in the Nagari script and is in incomplete and damaged.

It is a portion of Kavya written by poet Narasimha Rishi.It mentions the marriage of the couple .The second inscription is the another Kavya written by Narasimha .This insription is in the three pannels.

The first line of the first pannel is in Nagari script and the rest is in Telugu script.It is a unique record describing the love marriage of the Siddha couple in the Sringara Rasa.
