Description
Deutsch: Steyr, Urnenfriedhof am Tabor: Urnenort der KZ-Häftlinge. Die Urnen jener KZ-Häftlinge, die während der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus im Krematorium Steyr eingeäschert worden waren, wurden zunächst in einem Holzschuppen aufbewahrt. 1948 wurden die Urnen am Ende eines Verbindungsweges bei der Einfriedungsmauer des Friedhofes versenkt. Als später der Friedhof erweitert wurde, wurde die Friedhofsmauer an dieser Stelle teils entfernt, der Verbindungsweg verlängert und der Weg asphaltiert, wodurch der Urnenort der KZ-Häftlinge in Vergessenheit geriet. 2011 wurden die Urnen wiedergefunden, heute zeigt der Verbindungsweg eine dreiteilige Schachtabdeckung aus Granit. Zwischen August 2015 und September 2016 wurde der im Bild links sichtbare Friedhofsmauerrest abgetragen und der Verbindungsweg an dieser Stelle verbreitert, der Urnenort der KZ-Häftlinge selbst jedoch nicht verändert.
