Deutsch: Die Bethätigung hülfreichen Bürgersinns ist von altersher ein Ruhmestitel des Bürgers unserer guten freien und Hansestadt Hamburg gewesen. Auch in der jetzt überstandenen schweren Zeit hat sich dieser Bürgersinn glänzend bewährt. Die Institutionen unserer Vaterstadt kennen nicht die Verleihung äußerer Anerkennungszeichen und Ehrbezeugungen, auf die im Bewußtsein treu erfüllter Bürgerpflicht auch gern verzichtet wird.

Dem unterzeichneten Executiv-Ausschuß ist es aber Herzensbedürfnis, allen Denen, die durch ihre thatkräftige Mitwirkung zur Linderung des durch die Choleraepidemie hervorgerufenen Nothstandes der Mitbürger beigetragen haben, seinen wärmesten Dank auszusprechen! Als Ausdruck dieses Dankes wollen auch Sie dieses Erinnerungsblatt freundlich entgegennehmen und sich mit uns in dem Wunsche vereinigen: Soll unsere geliebte Vaterstadt vor der __________ so schweren Zeit gnädig bewahren!
