Description
Deutsch: Unsere Eisenbahner. Brennschneiden einer Bahnschiene (Feldpoststempel vom 23. Januar 1916). Autogenes Brennschneiden war damals noch ungewöhnlich, das wird auch der Grund für das Entstehen des Bildes gewesen sein. Üblicherweise wurden die Schienen damals noch mit handbetriebenen maschinensägen auf Länge geschnitten oder laut dem Handbuch für Unteroffiziere der Eisenbahntruppe von 1918 durchgemeißelt. Der Soldat am Brenner trägt eine zeitgenössische Schutzbrille. Die mit Brenngas und Sauerstoff gefüllten Flaschen werden von zwei Pionieren gegen Umfallen gesichert. Der Soldat am Brenner trägt vermutlich die dunkelblaue Uniform des Maschinenpersonals.
