Summary
[edit]DescriptionUnion Pacific Railroad City of Portland Gold Room.JPG | Postcard photo of the "Gold Room", a private dining area of the City of Portland's dining car. Other luxury trains such as Santa Fe's Super Chief, (Turquoise Room), had similar private dining areas for small groups which were by reservation only. One could arrange to have a private party or dinner on the train by reserving the room. |
Date | Not dated, but probably circa 1950s as the domed cars came onto the railroads for the first time in that period. By 1971, the train was no longer operated by Union Pacific. |
