Notes | WWSA Auckland Transport Division Uniform, WW2 uniform of Joy Goulding Worn by VJS (Joy) Goulding during WW2 in Auckland. Joy was a driver, and with a group that met once a week at the Beresford Street School for general training. She also practised marching in the streets with a military band. Miss Louden, ex-headmistress of Epsom Girls Grammar was in charge of the group. In the weekends Joy was attached to the Auckland Central Fire Station, and was on n hand to drive trucks for them (not the fire-engines). she remembers driving a truck and trailer with a pump to the Nihotapu Dam in the Waitakere Ranges. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
