This drawing corresponds very closely to a painted portrait in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (ref. 49.7.28). The sitter is not identified on either the drawing or the painting (which appears to be by an assistant of Holbein), but he has been tentatively identified as Sir Ralph Sadler, a protégé of Thomas Cromwell.
