Notes "Two umbrellas brought from England in 1833 by the Rev. James Preece " Received into the museum through the Kenderdine family. The donor, Mrs J Kenderdine, is almost certainly Emily Howard Kenderdine (nee White), who was the wife of Mr John Kenderdine, son of Dr Thomas Brutton Kenderdine (1828 - 1894) and his wife Eliza Jane Kenderdine, nee Preece (2nd daughter of Rev James Preece). Emily Howard Kenderdine died in 1943 at the age of 81 years. Her husband John had died 11 years earlier in 1932.
