Plastic film for encapsulating solar cells in a module

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: EPE is a coextruded polymer of ethylene vinyl acetate and polyolefin elastomer. This sample of film also contains a fluorescent phosphor to down-convert UV light to blue visible light in order to improve module lifespan and performance. EPE is commonly used in glass-glass heterojunction solar cell modules as it is highly impermeable to moisture but has good adhesion to indium tin oxide surfaces. The film appears "frosted", however it is highly transparent to visible light after lamination.
