Description
English: Four U.S. Navy aircraft carriers of Task Force 77 underway in the South China Sea, 28 January 1973. The ships are USS America (CVA-66), top; USS Enterprise (CVAN-65), center; USS Oriskany (CVA-34), center, right; and USS Ranger (CVA-61), bottom.
The escorts on the left column are, top to bottom: USS Bronstein (DE-1037), USS Corry (DD-817), USS William C. Lawe (DD-763), and USS Fanning (DE-1076).
USS Cone (DD-866), not in view, was also at the event steaming off the port bow of Ranger and out of the frame.
