Description
English: US Navy Barge YON-287, carrying 851,000 litres (225,000 gallons) of fresh water, departs Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) to support cooling efforts at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. YON-287 is the second of two barges supplied by the U.S. Navy to the government of Japan to aid in the cooling efforts. The two barges supplied a total of 1.89 million liters (500,000 gallons) of fresh water.
