English: PACIFIC OCEAN (June 20, 2010) Able Seaman Communication Information Systems Operator Kaitlin Clohesy, assigned to the Australian navy guided-missile frigate HMAS Newcastle (FFG 06), demonstrates flashing light signals aboard Newcastle during a personnel exchange visit between the U.S. and Australian navies. Newcastle will participate in Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC), a biennial, multi-national exercise designed to strengthen regional partnerships and improve multi-national interoperability. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communications Specialist 2nd Class James Mitchell/Released) The signal lamp is a 1300W lamp rated for up to 12 words/min signaling at up to 10 miles in daylight (Model A4047 FSP250mm Signalling Projector NSN 5850-99-799-7340) Engineering drawings and technical details of the lamp are available in the user's manual, available online at: http://www.francis.co.uk/technical.asp#panel-7.
