English: South China Sea (May 26, 2006) - A ship Deployed Surface Target (SDST) is lowered into the South China Sea from the deck of amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46). An SDST is a remote controlled target for small arms and 50 caliber machine guns fired from the ship. Tortuga is currently participating in exercise Southeast Asia Cooperation Against Terrorism (SEACAT). SEACAT is a weeklong exercise designed to highlight the value of information sharing and multi-national coordination within a scenario that gives participating navies practical maritime interception training opportunities.
