Description
English: Aboard Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola (Nov. 6, 2002) -- Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps officers attending the Navy Survival Training Institute get a taste of the dynamics of parachuting by training with a "Para-sail." Students are towed via a rope attached to a vehicle and are pulled to reach a height of approximately 100 feet. The exercise allows the students to practice controlling the parachute during decent, while performing proper Parachute Landing Fall (PLF) techniques designed to minimize possible injury during a parachute landing.
