English: U.S. Marines run to an MV-22B Osprey for extraction Feb. 27 during a theater security cooperation event. During the event, the Marines executed a vertical assault where they engaged targets with M16 service rifles, M240B medium machine guns and Shoulder-launched Multipurpose Assault Weapons with support from 60 mm mortars. Concurrently, UH-1Y “Huey” helicopters demonstrated live fire and close air support using GAU-17/A Gatling gun, GAU-21 .50-caliber machine gun and 70 mm rocket fire. The Marines are with Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, and Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and are currently conducting the annual Spring Patrol of the Asia-Pacific region.
