| Description | I was back in my home state last year and took some photos of the new stadium that was being readied for the up coming Minnesota Vikings season. During the course of the season the idea that this team could be the first home team to play in their home stadium swept the state of Minnesota. Alas they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles two weeks ago and just missed the chance to play here in Super Bowl LII. It has all kinds of reflective surfaces and I tried to show that here in the seven image panorama. The arks on the right represent the Viking Gjallarhorn that the mascot dressed as a Viking (there is some disagreement if they wore horns on a helmet but that's ok) walks around the field area and sounds the horn by blowing in an effort to work up the fans mostly dressed in purple. The Super Bowl will be played this Sunday to determine if the New England Patriots or the Eagles will be the reigning champion for the next year. It is also used for other events such as concerts as shown by the sign. Looking through the arches of the horn in the distance is the aft end of a large Viking ship. There are an estimated 1.5 million Minnesotans of Scandinavian descent |
