Summary

English: The U.S. Navy heavy cruiser USS Pensacola (CA-24) on 14 October 1943. She is accompanied by two tugs, one small harbour type and the other (at right) an old Navy fleet tug. Pensacola was repaired at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, following her torpedo damage during the Battle of Tassafaronga in November 1942. She reached Pearl Harbor in January 1943 and left again for the Gilbert Islands Campaing in November 1943. |
