Description The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Leyte (CV-32) transiting the Panama Canal, circa in October 1946. Leyte, with assigned Carrier Air Group 18 (CVG-18), was on her shakedown cruise to the Caribbean from 16 September to 12 December 1946. She visited Valparaiso, Chile, for the inauguration of president Gabriel González Videla on 4 November 1946.
