Description	CHANGI NAVAL BASE, Singapore (July 19, 2013) The littoral combat ship USS Freedom (LCS 1) gets underway as the guided-missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) prepares for the at-sea phase of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Singapore 2013. More than 700 Sailors and Marines are participating in CARAT Singapore. CARAT is a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Timor Leste.
