English: Command Senior Chief Charles Gum, boatswain's mate, left, supervises as Petty Officer 2nd Class Christopher Bomil, boatswain's mate, assists in recovering four Pakistani mariners from a rigid-hall inflatable boat aboard the U.S. Navy frigate USS Elrod July 5. Elrod rescued 16 Pakistani mariners who were floating in a life raft after their fishing skiff sunk off the coast of the Horn of Africa. A Navy P-3C Orion aircraft spotted the life raft near debris while conducting a routine counter-piracy patrol in the Gulf of Aden. |
