Description An elevated view of the forward section of the flight deck of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) during aircraft launch and recovery operations of Carrier Air Wing 7 (CVW-7) on 6 July 1980. Parked behind the raised blast deflector panels are three LTV A-7E Corsair II aircraft from attack squadrons VA-12 Flying Ubangis (AG-4XX) and VA-66 Waldos (AG-3XX) and a Lockheed S-3A Viking aircraft from anti-submarine squadron VS-31 Topcats. On the starboard side of the flight deck are four Grumman A-6E Intruder aircraft from attack squadron VA-65 Tigers, an S-3A and an A-7E. A Sikorsky SH-3H from helicopter anti-submarine squadron HS-5 Night Dippers is visible in the background, a VA-12 A-7E is parked on the bow.
