Description
English: Commander Ramsey served in the US Navy from early 1941 through December 1963. He was able to lead men into battle with his VF-11 Sundowners division at Guadalcanal spring and summer of 1943 and on his second WESPAC tour on the USS Hornet CV-12 in 1944/45. He later served two tours in the Korean War with VF-111 Sundowners, commanding the squadron in the second tour. He was awarded numerous medals and citations in both wars. In WWII he was credited with four aerial kills against the IJN Navy (two at Guadalcanal and two while aboard the USS Hornet).
