English: A landing craft, air cushioned vehicle with Assault Craft Unit 4, maneuvers to board amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), after its wash down, Jan. 7, 2011. Agricultural wash-downs are performed to protect U.S. agricultural and natural resources by preventing the entry of foreign animal and plant pests and noxious weeds. The 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) is currently deployed as part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (BATARG) as the U.S. Central Command theatre reserve force, also providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility. |
