English: Getting ready to simulate an ambush on a Ukrainian patrol, Cpl. Kristopher L. Acker , an Amarillo, Texas, native and rifleman roleplaying as an insurgent, with Black Sea Rotational Force 11, hides in the brush until the most opportune moment to strike. Marines with Black Sea Rotational Force 11 returned to Babadag Training Area with Ukrainian soldiers for their last cycle of counterinsurgency training for the deployment. Since April, the Ground Combat Element has worked with seven nations in the Black Sea, Balkan and Caucasus regions in to build military capacity in counterinsurgency and peacekeeping operations ranging from: convoy and patrol operations; improvised-explosive device (IED) awareness; cordon, search and seizure; Military Operations in Urban Environments (MOUT); Marine Corps Martial Arts; and combat marksmanship while building enduring partnerships with the partner and allied militaries. |
