Description
English: Seven Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 12 Marines run past the MALS-12 headquarters building here Dec. 18 during a 13 mile marathon they organized to raise money to reinvent the barracks in which they and their fellow Marines live in. The Marines trained for nearly 3 months preparing for the marathon and managed to raise approximately $1000. "We've been running four, five days a week, even on Saturdays," said Lance Cpl. Joshua Dossey, a MALS-12 forward looking infrared technician. "We've been running with flack jackets, camel back, preparing for this 13 mile run." Dossey said he thought the run was a positive thing which helped build camaraderie among his fellow Marines. The money raised by the marathon is slated to be used to buy blue-ray players and televisions for the community rooms in the barracks.
