English: MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (Feb. 17, 2005) - Major Mike Lepson, commanding officer for the Marine Air Ground Task Force Distribution Center here explains the new shipping requirements for gear in Iraq. The Baltimore, native said according to U.S. Central Command all sustainment cargo must be fitted with Radio Frequency Identification tags. His unit has been field-testing the RFIDs, iridium modems and the Battle Command Sustainment Support System for the last three months. He said the new technology should give commanders added confidence of their equipment arriving because they can track their shipment order from any internet-capable computer, much like they would if sending or receiving shipments by civilians in the United States.
