Description
English: Iraqis in a mock Iraqi town try to sell American Marines everything from fruit to newspapers during required pre-deployment training at Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center in 29 Palms, Calif. Approximately 50 other Iraqi-Americans support Marines training here by adding a touch of authentic Iraqi culture to the month-long Mojave Viper training package here. The Marines from 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment got a first-hand experience of the Iraqi culture, to include the problems language barriers can create. Next spring, the unit will take their lessons learned to Iraq when they replace the Camp Lejeune, N.C.-based II Marine Expeditionary Force as part of a regular rotation of military forces in Iraq early next year.
