English: Completed gabion baskets are stacked high outside of the Women Social Advocacy Foundation of Afghanistan’s office in Farah, Afghanistan, July 8, 2010. United States Agency for International Development and members of the Female Engagement Team assigned to Provincial Reconstruction Team Farah toured and assessed a Women’s Gabion Basket Weaving project. The project teaches women to weave gabion baskets, which are used for erosion control and to reinforce walls of canals. Approximately 60 women participate in the program and currently earn a minimum of $6 a day.
