English: A formation of U.S. service members attached to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, representing the Marine Corps, Navy, Army and Air Force stand alongside other nations during an international Veterans/Remembrance Day Ceremony at the 5th French Marines Battalion Monclar Barracks, Nov. 11. America's Veteran's Day is a day set aside to honor the veterans of America's wars. It was originally known as Armistice Day to commemorate the official ending of hostilities in World War I, which occurred at the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918. |
