English: SUWON, KOREA, 1950-06-27. MEMBERS OF THE UNCOK (UNITED NATIONS COMMISSION ON KOREA), ARRIVED AT AN EMERGENCY AIRFIELD NEAR SUWON 30 KILOMETRES SOUTH OF SEOUL, AFTER HAVING BEEN FORCED TO LEAVE KOREA BECAUSE OF ONCOMING NORTH KOREAN FORCES. ON REACHING SUWON, THE COMMISSION WAS UNABLE TO CONTACT THE RHEE GOVERNMENT AND THEREFORE, WHEN AN EVACUATION AIRCRAFT OFFERED THEM A LIFT TO JAPAN, AN IMPROMPTU MEETING OF THE MEMBERS WAS HELD AND THEY DECIDED TO LEAVE.
